The life of a trader is one of extreme highs amidst a constant hum of anxiety. How do you manage the stress? Keith Morton ran marathons back when he was a trader in the 80s. It helped him blow off steam and keep work at work. Since then, he’s championed a more efficient approach to training with his Citywide Superslow gym. In the past, structured note trading was something only available to high-powered firms or wealthy individuals. A new startup, Halo Investing, is turning that on its head and democratizing structured note trading so that everyone can get a piece of what has become a $3-trillion market. Our guest this week on Limit Up!, Biju Kulathakal, discusses the future of structured note trading and why traders should get in on it now.
Biju also talks about his time as a trader and how it helped guide him toward his current role as the CEO of a startup. Also, be sure to stay tuned for this week’s MARKet Reaction.
It's time for another rousing edition of the Coach's Playbook! Today Dan, Mick and Hoag discuss 3 reasons why you should unplug and not trade illiquid holiday trading hours. Also, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, they breakdown recipes for some of their favorite dishes including smoked turkey and White Castle stuffing.
Speaking of taking a break, we'll be off next week, but be sure to tune in every Wednesday after that at 11:30 AM CT for new live episodes where you can ask your own trading questions, and find out what to do with the leftovers.
Just as the internet has revolutionized trading, it has also changed the landscape of higher education. People need degrees to get desirable jobs, but the cost of MBA programs is rapidly becoming out of reach for all but the lucky few. Jeff Brown, Dean of the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, stopped by to talk to Jeff about the state of higher education and what the future is shaping up to look like.
Dan and Jack also kick things off with a quick discussion about the new highs in the S&P 500, and why pretty much everyone owns a bunch of Apple and Microsoft (whether they know it or not).
In this week's Coach's Playbook, Hoag and Mick, discuss an important, but somewhat unfortunate topic: 5 reasons most people don't find success trading futures. You should definitely know these pitfalls so that you can avoid them in your own account.
Remember to tune in every Wednesday at 11:30 AM CT for new live episodes where you can ask your own trading questions, or occasionally watch us fumble with the video equipment.
In the high-stakes world of trading, it’s only a matter of time before you make a mistake. But high-achievers are notoriously bad at handling failure. Today’s guest, Gustavo Razzetti wants to change that. Gustavo stopped by to talk to Jeff about resetting your mindset so that you look at mistakes and failures as opportunities to grow.
Check out today’s episode as Gustavo offers up his best advice for dealing with failure and be sure to stay tuned for this week’s MARKet Reactions.

Our funded traders were on fire in October, and there were a number of big withdrawals to prove it. If you follow Topstep on Instagram, you know we've been congratulating traders individually whenever they take a hefty payout (occasionally we do it from a petting zoo). This month, more than a dozen traders earned a coveted "Trader Shout-out" from the Topstep Team. We're super excited to see who gets honored next by our terrible acting.
You can see the entirety of the Instagram congratulations-compilation below. Hoag makes an appearance, and Topstep founder Michael Patak may or may not get mauled by a domesticated animal.
You know Nasdaq to be a multi-billion dollar, global exchange, but it wasn’t always that way. In 2003, Nasdaq made an out-of-the-box hire with Bob Greifeld. Bob oversaw the digital revolution in trading and steered the Nasdaq to become the behemoth it is today.
